What We’re Listening To: April 2023

Jason- Faust – Faust IV  “I worked at Tower Records in 1992 in San Fran and we had the Faust IV CD on a Caroline blue plate reissue. I had little spending money at the time but this was a record I felt like taking a chance on. A great move. It cost me financially to maybe not buy a couple Miller HIgh Life quart bottles at the time.”

Simone- Various – Satan in Love: Rare Finnish Synth-Pop & Disco 1979-1992
“This album is characterized by punchy bass lines and cheesy synth choruses- chock-full of character and campy 80s modular effects. Perfect for a solo dance party in your bedroom.”

Duane-  Jon Spencer Blues Explosion – Now I Got Worry LP  “Since winter won’t seem to leave us alone, we need some music that makes you feel like the world is burning up — and this album is it.”

Ryan- Grauzone – (self-titled) 2LP
“Alien post-punk landscape with danceable beats.  Early punk experimentation at its best! Once you listen you’ll hear their influence on nearly all contemporary punk bands. Otherwise hard to find, this reissue includes their self-titled album with a whole other disc of work.”
