Record Store Day 2026 is Saturday, April 18 — doors open at 8am
By Wax Trax Staff
If you haven’t had time to look at Record Store Day 2026 list, get a jumpstart with a few releases we’re genuinely stoked for. We also just rolled out our Record Store Day schedule , and phew, it’s a biggie.
Not only are we hosting RSD at a third location for the first time, but we’re also releasing a limited edition, collectible Wax Trax First Pressing beer (Cerebral x Wax Trax) on the day, free breakfast from the line (thanks to some awesome local partners) and featuring free live music (a preview of the inaugural Blucifer’s First Rodeo with incredible artists Ritmo Cascabel, Fruta Brutal, and Team Nonexistent) and live DJ sets from all-stars Sinistarr and No-Fvce. Lots of concert ticket and turntable giveaways as well — and, oh yeah, our biggest order ever of exclusive RSD releases. If you’re hoping to get something from the list, let’s just say you have a great chance at scoring it from our shops.
April March
“A contemporary American artist known for her take on the 60’s French pop “yé-yé” genre, April March is dropping this new album of all original songs plus exclusive RSD bonus track and insert! You may remember her France Gall/Serge Gainsbourg-based cover song “Chick Habit” from Tarantino’s film Death Proof, but she is worth a deeper dive. She also animated and wrote episodes for Ren & Stimpy so don’t be surprised if there is a slight psychedelic flavor to some tracks in her catalog.”
– Becca

Romeo Void
“I’ve been a fan ever since I scored a cassette copy of It’s A Condition at Wax Trax back in the mid-80s (and yeah, I’m embracing my ‘classic’ status). That album has always been a personal favorite. While I never caught them live back then, I am beyond excited to finally hear this!”

All We Know is Falling (Deluxe) 2LP
Paramore
“Whoa! You may think this looks familiar, and here we go again, but it’s a little different. All we know is that this deluxe Paramore RSD release (with the accompanying never-before-heard-on-vinyl Summer Tic EP) isn’t a conspiracy, but don’t feel pressure to buy, it’s not an emergency! If you do buy, you may never let this go. I know it will make my heart feel brighter.”
-Sam (aka Franklin, I guess)
Cuban 45 Boxset Curated By DJ Koco Aka Shimokita
Various Artists, DJ Koco
“DJ Koco AKA Shimokita returns with another installment of Mr. Bongo’s legendary 45 box sets. If you know anything about DJ Koco then you know this is going to be packed with funky Cuban rhythms and forgotten gems. If you’re not familiar with DJ Koco, you’re in for a treat, he’s an world renowned DJ who only spins 45’s and has incredible tastes for sound all across the globe. Don’t sleep!”

Rare Blasts: Studio Outtakes And Movie Music 1979-1985 LP
The Blasters
“Honestly few albums make me feel more like bopping down the sidewalk on an unseasonably warm spring day than The Blaster’s 1981 self-titled record. Phil and Dave Alvin underrated rock and roll brothers–if you’re ultra hip and underground you might recognize their song “American Music” as the theme from Peter Ivers’ local access TV show and cult fave “New Wave Theatre.” Anyway I’m excited for this RSD release because The Blasters are SO fun and I wanna hear the unreleased shit!”
-Gillian

Wheels Of Fire: Live At The Fillmore Auditorium & Winterland Ballroom 3LP
Cream
“The first time I saw Cream was in April, 1968 at the Cellar in Arlington Heights, a suburb of Chicago. I had never heard a band this dense and seamless. Every note, every sound, seemed nailed into the performance. Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker were merely extraordinary. Eric Clapton, at least for a couple of hours on a warm April night, lived up to the graffiti: he was God.”
-Duane
Lucy Dacus
“A cryptic new song (or two) from my personal favorite Boygenius member?! Available only on 7″ vinyl at indie record shops on RSD? Say less.”
-Daisy

Superunit: Maximum Implosion 2LP
Zeni Geva & Steve Albini
“Why am I looking forward to it? It’s Steve Albini.”
-Mike Buckley
Welcome To My Dream (35th Anniversary Expanded Edition) 2LP
MC 900 Ft. Jesus
“This one came out in 1991, a product of a snobby ex-New Waver and record store/label employee who said “I could make better music than that.” He worked at the legendary VVV Records in Dallas (since defunct) and when Welcome to My Dream on Nettwerk Records achieved underground fame (and a lot of store plays here at Wax Trax) he started to blow up. Rick Rubin’s American label picked him up, produced his next album, but then he burned out on American and the industry. What’s left is this, his peak achievement and an essential LP for anyone nostalgic for the 90s.”
-Pete

Metal Machine Music: Power to Consume Vol. 2 2LP
Various
“New noise explorations from Blixa Bargeld of Einstürzende Neubauten, Emil Beaulieau, Eros, Lydia Lunch, Masonna, Merzbow, Moonbeam Terror, Pod Blotz, & Martin Rev of Suicide reinterpreting the ethos of an album Rolling Stone once compared to “spending the night in a bus terminal;” proof of industrial music as an ongoing conversation; a magic circle; infinite, self-reflective, different every time.”
-CJ
Swamp Dogg Gets His Pool Painted LP
Swamp Dogg
“Soundtrack to the unconventional, bizarre, and very entertaining 2024 documentary Swamp Dogg Gets His Pool Painted. Hang out with the cult legend and his housemates Moogstar and Guitar Shorty as well as friends like John Prine & Jenny Lewis and superfans like Johnny Knoxville & Tom Kenny and take in the ambiance of the “artistic playground/bachelor pad for aging musicians” Swamp Dogg has turned his home into.”
-CJ (again — couldn’t pick just one!)

If you saw something you’re into, come snag it before someone else does. And if you just wanna hang out and listen to eat free breakfast, drink some First Pressing beer, get your mind blown by a free live line-up, win turntables and concert tickets, that’s great too. See you on April 18.
