Doug- Diamanda Galas – (self-titled aka Panoptikon) LP
“It’s the scariest album ever made. I’ll put it on and then it’ll be all of our favorite albums in the store.”

Simone- Carambolage – (self-titled) LP
“It’s my favorite right now because they’re one of the first post-punk acts in Germany in the late 70s/early 1980s, they’re bad ass, and they’re all gals.”
Jason- Plosivs – (self-titled) LP
“I like everything John Reis does, he was in Drive Like Jehu, Rocket from the Crypt, and the Hot Snakes. Also the lead vocalist is Rob Crow of Pinback and Heavy Vegetables. San Diego underground royalty. It’s very straight ahead but not abrasive punk.”

Ryan- Makaya McCraven – In These Times LP
“It’s like sample jazz but it doesn’t feel that way. I feel like he’s at the forefront of jazz right now. It’s beautiful.”
Pete-
Sprung Aus Den Wolken – (self-titled) LP Minimal industrial noise rock out of early 80s Berlin, includes the synth guy from Einsterzende Neubauten. I love this because it gives you a pretty good idea of how it felt to be a rowdy art student in early 1980s Berlin, the scene that helped produce Einsterzende, DAF, and other angry old man favorites. Also a couple tracks on here are pretty danceable.
