Another victim of city policies last summer was the 13th Ave Flea, a market that folks from Kilgore’s Books, Common Collective, Wax Trax and others on ‘the block’ put together. The Flea was called off in September when the site got overwhelmed with unhoused guests who did not want to make way for all the micro businesses involved.
Since then the city has been coordinating their services for the unhoused a little better, and we have been working with Xcel Energy and other property owners and businesses in the area to bring the Flea back better than ever. If you have an outdoor space on 13th Avenue between Broadway and Wax Trax that could host a couple 10×10 tents, or if you a micro retailer or food truck owner who is interested, feel free to email us at info@waxtraxrecords.com. The goal is to start back up on Saturdays in May through October.
